WanitaWave is a clothing brand born in 2020-2021 thanks to Joana Guerendiain, who graduated at Parsons School of Design in New York City.

She also holds a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Navarra and years of experience as a pharmaceutical manager. Nevertheless, in 2023 she delegated her responsibilities in the pharmaceutical field and focused on her true passion: creating her first complete collections for WanitaWave and opening several sale points in Indonesia and Spain.

WanitaWave reflects the life of someone who loves the sea, the surf and the madness of big cities. Through its designs, its colors, prints, materials and versatility, Joana’s Basque roots, her intense experiences in New York City and the love she feels for the island of Bali are revealed in each item of the brand.

Wanita (which means woman in Indonesian) is the most nocturnal and chicest line of the collection, while Wave is about daytime life and the sea. WanitaWave clothing is as simple as it is cool. It is mostly focused on women but there is always space for very special garments for men.

At the end of 2023, WanitaWave hires Mikel Urmeneta (international multidisciplinary artist and founder of Kukuxumusu, Katuki Saguyaki, etc.), as brand director. Mikel is in charge of expanding the brand to the worlds of furniture, art and audiovisual content, always absorbing the essence of WanitaWave as well as from Indonesia’s craft, where the headquarters of the company is located.

WanitaWave´s main objectives for 2024 are to consolidate the small human teams that operate in Spain and Indonesia, to significantly expand and reach new clients and markets, enrich the network of suppliers and artisans, build an important collection of furniture and art, create promotional and artistic audiovisual content online and open a gallery-store in Bali where all the creativity and uniqueness of WanitaWave business lines will be shown and sold.
